A High school teacher was left embarrassed after it was revealed that she was se_xually active with 5 of her students.
The woman from Mpumalanga, was a biology teacher at a local High school(name withheld), when the alleged rapes took place.
The 34-year-old Shirley Nxumalo faces five counts of statutory rape for allegedly performing se_xual acts with five boys who were all below 17 years old.
Police began investigating the matter, after the principal of the high school received information about the rapes.
The investigation lasted several months, and involved multiple interviews with students and others.
Detectives said that some of these se_xual encounters occurred on the school campus in her office.
Nxumalo resigned after she was placed on administrative leave.
